Optimized viewport‐adaptive 360‐degree video streaming

Because of the rapid growth head-mounted displays and 5G networking deployment, 360-degree video has become increasingly popular. To generate real experience a virtual environment, videos require an ultrahigh resolution frame rate to cover omnidirectional view. These two prerequisites impose challenges for transmission bandwidth storage capacity streaming. reduce waste while providing good immersive experience, we propose optimized viewport-adaptive streaming method using high-efficiency coding tiling, motion-constrained tile sets MPEG dynamic adaptive over HTTP spatial relationship description. The paper describes rigorous design system, which can assign different bitrates tiles in viewport. experimental results show that proposed system compares favourably with existing methods terms bitrate savings reduction.
